Being
a blog hog generally means to take advantage of
the blogging community by way of posting comments
on blof posts that are relative to your own website's
content and then leaving links to it.
No
matter what your website is about there is most
likely a blog somewhere with the same type of content
on it. the idea is to take an active interest in
that blog by allowing further information while
providing links to your own website articles. For
example, if your website is about grooming horses
then locate a blog via the search engines about
horses in general. While posting your own comments
on that blog post, simply provide a link to your
web page with a note "For information, please
visit this page about horse grooming" or something
similar to that.
Posting
on blogs do not just allow you to obtain more back-links
on those blog pages but on other pages as well because
most blogs have built in rss feeds. When other people
take an interest in those blogs, they subscribe
to the feeds. By posting a comment on the blogs,
you instantaniously end up in those feed results
the next time people read their rss news feeds that
they have subscribed to.
Starting
your own blog is also a great way of getting your
websites backlinked. but instead of simply commenting
on a blog here and there, you create posts for each
one of your own website pages and then use the bookmarking
tools (found
on the bookmarks toolbar) to bookmark that blog.
Now you have a much deeper backlink than before
for each one of your website pages.
