By
"Plant Your Roots", I simply mean to not
go overboard with your website submissions to search
engines. There is no need to submit ever page of
your website to a search engine and most people
try to do thinking that their results will be greater.
This will actually hurt your ratings.
When
submitting a website to search engines, simply submit
just the root URL of the website only. Do not submit
subdomains, sub folders or file extentions as this
may be construde as spamming by most search engines.
You are not taking a chance of them being ignored
insomuch as they may simply be pushed to the bottom
of the search results pages no matter how well you
do in other aspects of your SEO tactics.
Also,
whenever possible, while submitting your website
URL to search engines, exclude the "www".
Some search engines will require the "www"
but when it doesn't require it, leave it out. By
doing this, your domain name will appear more often
when matching keywords in a search query.
